Wedding Planner, a booming industry in China
In the old days, a wedding was a luxury for most couples in China. Usually, they would just take a photo: brides on the left, grooms on the right. No parties, no banquets, no wedding gowns. The expenses for getting married were less than ten yuan or one dollar.
However now, young Chinese couples collectively spend some 57 billion US dollars a year on weddings, according to the China Wedding Industry Development Report. To meet the demand, wedding planning has spawned careers for many. Foreign companies are also looking to capitalize on the huge business opportunity of training Chinese wedding planners.
